This can't be happening

my back pain seems to get worse each day. All I do is cry at this point and after today I totally give up with my doctors. I've had intense lower and upper back pain for 2 months. To the point I am crying and at times vomiting from the sharpness of it. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 4 yrs ago. Tried Cymbalta, neurontin, Lyrica. No results. I've done physical therapy, chiropractor, have a TENS unit, absolutely no luck. Last month I was diagnosed with Raynaud's disease which explains a lot of my toe/finger numbness but I am still convinced there is something the doctor is missing. I had another nerve conduction study today and came back as everything being ok even though during his exam I almost bashed my face open just trying to stand on one leg. I can't be in any position longer then 5 min without shooting pain going through my spine. Had MRIs done, show no lesions so they ruled out MS. All my blood work comes back good. Had an eye exam which showed nerve damage behind the right eye. These are my symptoms, since my doctors won't listen to me...(they only listen to 2 or 3 symptoms then stop me) maybe some of you could let me know if you experience anything similar and what I can do to make life a little more tolerable since being told to take By the doctor is getting old...
-shooting back pain. Lower back and between shoulders
-pins and needles in feet and hands (24/7 never goes away)
-leg and arm numbness (feels like they are cut off at the base with a rubber band)
-burning in legs and arms. (Feels like lava is flowing through them)
-shooting pain in temple and eyeballs (eyes are very sensitive to light. Looking at the green light while driving gives me an instant headache)
-occasionally when my arm and leg goes numb the left side of my face will twitch)
-excessive thirst
-frequent need to urinate even though I don't need to go
-dizzy, loss of hearing upon standing
-asking the same question at least 2 or 3 times at work. I know the answer I just forget when I asked it
-driving somewhere and pulling into my destination having no memory of how I got there
-when I try to write on paper or type on computer I almost have to coach my hand on what to do. Ex- today I was trying to write the number 3 and I actually had to say out loud "backwards C on top of backwards C" haha that doesn't even make sense now.

--- there are more symptoms but I am hoping with those someone can help me by saying they at least deal with one and what they do to make it a little better.

Sorry if this has been asked/answered before (I'm a little preoccupied myself these days)...
Have they checked vitamin levels (B12, D, others)?
Hormone levels (not just estrogen)?
Tested for Diabetes (not just A1C but fasting glucose tolerance)?

Vitamins are good and no diabetes. Don't know about hormones. Could I possibly grow a penis? That would be awesome!!! HAHA kidding I honestly don't know about the lab reports in detail. I just called and she said everything is negative, come back in a month.

Thing is... you've got such a confounding list of symptoms... There could be so many causes for many o them. I have no doubt there are many people here who've experienced one or some of them (I've got several myself) but the big picture is perplexing -- especially with all the negative testing. I'm not surprised the doctors are baffled as well. Medicine doesn't know it all yet by a looong way.

Relieving them -- especially those that are neurological (which is most) -- depends at least in part (if not all) on the cause, and that's the snafu. Those of us with peripheral neuropathy (PN), for example, just have to live with the numbness, tingling, occasional shooting pains/needle jabs/shocks. For some (like me), the burning pain can be alleviated with supplements (R-lipoic acid*, B12, B1/benfotiamine, D3, magnesium, others). I seem to be thirsty all the time too, so I just keep a jar/bottle of water handy while I'm awake.

*the only one that helps me with burning of PN

Oddly, I test negative for diabetes too, yet my symptoms respond as if I were diabetic, so I do much better going carb-free (no sugars or starches except veggies & non-juicy fruits). Experts (heads of neuro depts at local medical ctrs) have no explanation except, "We don't know it all."

It also occurs to me that at least some of it may be dietary, as cracked as that may seem. :Crazy 2: This can occur at any time in life, even though one has eaten things without repercussions previously. Have you ever tried going gluten-free, sugar-free, or dairy free. Some people are also very sensitive to things like nightshades (tomatoes, potatoes, all kinds of peppers, eggplant, some herbs & spices, etc.) Such a trial would have to be absolute (no cheating) and for at least 3-6 months to know for sure. If it doesn't help by then, at least you can rule those things out and enjoy to heart's content. :D

I dealt w/ same

I just wrote a lengthy response and it got erased...

I had to wait 5 years and go through every test and treatment possible before the docs would acknowledge I had 4 discs ruptured. Only then it was b/c I saw a fantastic surgeon. Now it's surgery for me.

It is common practice to exhaust all options b/4 making any heavy diagnosis, so you may not be crazy, and yes there may be something wrong, but try to be patient. With the back it takes alot of trial, error and time.

Even then, two months is not that long to have pain. After 6 mos then it becomes a chronic problem. Hope you heal on your own by then!
