Hi-

I am a new member whom is affected with a movement disorder to my leg. It took about 8 years and countless MDs, tests, MRIs, etc to finally have a diagnosis.

Thanks for having me.

Hi Newbie

What is the actual movement disorder you were diagnosed with? Movement Disorder covers many kinds of sub-diagnoses such as Parkinson's, etc...

Hi Bill-
Focal Dystonia is my diagnosis....At least I know what is wrong with me as my family thought it was "in my mind"...no...It is in my basal ganglia. They are totally non supportive.

If I am off my medication, my leg flails around, severe pain, it stiffens up (muscle contractions), and I cannot ambulate...initially my balance was totally off.

Thanks.
