MRI Results
I recently got my MRI results back and my neurologist told me everything looked clear, no bruising, no trauma, etc. Though he did mention that I had a small spot on my brain and that it was a natural aging process and it was harmless. I'm somewhat worried as to what this spot was they found. Does anyone have any insight on this?

I can only tell you that I had something similar many years ago on my brain MRI. I think it was called a "flair".
I was freaked out about it, but it was noted that it was likely due to aging, and I had a great neurologist at the time who was very well respected so I trusted him when he told me not to worry. If you're really concerned, you can always see another neurologist for a 2nd opinion of the MRI results. |
I agree with going for a second opinion if you can't get answers from your current doctor or the radiologist. I'm also a big fan of researching answers at the library. Knowledge is power and many times it's only after we have information that we can ask informative questions to help us understand.

Most MRIs seem to come back normal. All I was told about was mine had discoloration I guess (this is after concussion number 5). Not entirely sure what that means but it was never brought up again so it might not have been that bad.

With my MRI they found a small cyst on the pineal gland, which I was told is nothing to worry about and an incidental finding. They did have me go back 1yr and 3yrs after the 1st MRI to monitor to ensure the size of the cyst didn't change.
