Please help w/c issue
I've had 2 EMG tests and both came back negative for carpal tunnel from my last 2 previous doctors. However, My right hand feels numb and tingling very bad theref I decided to
Go to different orthopedic doctor (diplomate American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and he is also fellow American academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons) to get the 3rd opinion. The EMG test still came out negative but this doctor wrote me a report confirmed that I has Carpal Tunnel syndrome, it is worked- related. Do you think the w/c will accept my case without any possitive test beside just my doctor report. Please give me advise. Thank you so much. |
Do you have any neck, shoulder or upper back aches or pains?
Do you do repetitive work? |

Thanks for your prompt response Yes I do repetitive work. I worked for Social Security admin 8 years ( typing, answ phone, filling, dealing with computer all day long 8 hrs/ day) My right hand is numb and tingling at all time but dont knw why The test came out negative. I have shoulder pain and back pain ... ( but not that bad) Now I had the report from the doctor as I mentioned above, but Can I turn my claim in to w/c again? Will they ok with my claim without any proof? |
You might want to explore our Thoracic outlet syndrome forum (TOS) for short..

Thanks Jo*ma
But at this time can I continue applying for Reconsidersation for carpal tunnel? Or do I need to Go see different doctor for different report? I have no insurance and experiencing a financial hardship at this time. So stresses out. Thank you |
I think states have differing laws/rules for wc. It's been nearly 10 yrs since my claim.
Go to your state website and explore the workers comp area. For mine , after they denied it, I got an wc atty (some are good and some are not so good, try to locate a good one). They tend to tell you a lot of good stuff to get you to sign with them, after that it can be hard to talk to them..:( But there is no cost to you until you get some settlement $$ or back pay, then they get a % up to a capped amount out of that $.. Sometimes the atty will know some docs that will help your claim and you can go to them. After denial my atty wrote a letter for all my wc treatment bills to be placed on hold, so I could still get treatment & PT. A few places required my pvt ins card as a secondary just in case.. Then the bills can be paid out of the settlement moneys. WC is so confusing it is best to get any atty - interview quite a few before deciding to sign with any of them.. then go home and do some searches on them for info. But they will help you thru the claim process , esp w/ an "invisible" injury like RSIs tend to be.. But check out the TOS forum , you might be able to help yourself heal or stop the damage from getting any worse.. |
