A Poem "free At Last"...................

"FREE AT LAST"
Bonded down with chains of fire.
Nothing ahead being fed by a liar.
Knowing inside that there must be a way.
To escape this life, and see the light of day.

Dear God,please save me,take me away.
Help me Lord, only if you may.
The power of God was all it took.
His power against that liar and crook.

No power surpasses God,I say.
None at all,he broke me away.
He showed me a life within my reach.
He promised me freedom,if him I believed.

He was the one who took all my pain.
He saved me,and loved me,and took all my shame.
Then showed me a life, with everything to gain.

I'll never forget what God did for me.
For because of him.
I am finally set free........

This poem is being published in the International Who's Who in Poetry!
I won't go on about all my awards for my writing,I just want to share it with you all.I am a published writer in poetry, that poem is just one of my favorites, and I just wanted to share! Thanks for being here for me to share with!

Hey, ((((((Justice))))))

WOW!! You've actually made me speechless (and that's pretty hard to do)!!

Magnificent writing!! I *LOVE* words. It's so incredible what a bunch of squiggly lines on paper (or on computer screen) can communicate.

You, my friend, have a real talent. If the words are biographical and true, I'm beyond glad that you're free . I'm know how much hard work that takes. Here's another award http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_9_5.gif.

Hugs.

My #2 Coping Skill!..................

Thanks for the compliment.I have 2 main coping skills, and the 1st one is singing, and the 2nd is writing. I've been writing poetry since I was in Junior High school,lol...I'm at the age now that I can't even remember what age you are in Junior High..lol..sad huh..lol...I guess that must be like your first sign of aging! lol..I have a whole book with like about 150 poems in it that I wrote, but so far I've only gotten about 22 (I think)copyrighted, and either 3 or 4 are being published.I did get the editors choice award for August of 2006 thats on my wall. And Poet of the Year 2006 Amateur Division, but I didn't expect all that when I write, and when I started,I just write how I feel, and I feel that I can express myself better in words through my poetry. One day I entered a contest online, and all the sudden,I started winning awards, getting letters in the mail, asking my permission to publish my work! It was just a shock to me,but it felt good to! But I still do my singing,I actually went to the recording studio, with pneumonia, just so I could have some surprize gifts,on CD for my friends! All I can say is that the first song I sang came out really well, but the other two were disasters, because of the pneumonia,my breathing started getting pretty bad! It was pretty funny!

POEM #2 "The Road To Recovery".......................

This Poem I wrote 7 years ago when I quit using drugs and Alcohol,to help me stay motivated. It is now circulating through the AA community in the area where I live and helping others the same. Also it is circulating through the local Jail. I had sent my brother a copy to help him in Jail, and his inmates really liked it,so I sent him a bunch of copies, and he spread them around.

"The Road To Recovery"
The steps I must take to get well won't be easy.
The road is bumpy, and the air is breezy.
But I must endure this storm till the end.
No lies,no games,tell the truth,don't pretend.

Open my mind to others advice.
You never know, not everyone is as cold as ice.
Open myself for God to come in.
For his help is needed to make it to the end.

My mind is certain that this road will be tough.
However, the benefits of recovery tells me enough.
I can make it,many others have done.
But to do it for myself, I'm the only one.

I've been clean and sober since I wrote this poem,7 years! I hope that it helps even just one person, even more would be great!;)

I don't belong to any groups or anything for my poetry.I just started entering them into contests online, and got some of them copyrighted, and some were chosen for publication. But the website that I entered them on,is a total scam for people that don't really have talent also. It's poetry.com--they'll tell people that send the worse poem in that they won this great award, but it costs like over $150.00 for processing fee's,and these people want to believe that thier great, and have that trophy to show others,so they'll pay the money! I think it's wrong! So I'm just turning the tables and using thier website to copyright my poetry for free!lol...But it is really sad what they're doing to these others that really don't have the gift, and these guys are convincing them they do,and just humiliating them.Anytime they ask,"What you want engraved on your trophy?"LOL....that's a sure sign that you didn't earn it!But the contest are free,so what the hell? And my poems that are being published,I won't get any royalties out of it,they will, but I don't mind,I'm just happy to share, and it's good advertising to get my name out there! But I've never really heard about groups and stuff, never really looked actually. But it sounds interesting.I wouldn't mind being a part of a poetry group! And my music,oh,love,I play the piano, and the trumpet I played for 7-8 years, but haven't played for awhile. And I sing. That's cool we both have the same passions for coping skills, awesome!;)

ha I only sing when alone... my oldest plays the drums and my youngest dose key board/piano. I should share some of the writing web sites I know of with you . Poetry.com is a scam. one from the poetry group went threw the whole deal all the way to going to convention to be honored ..ha gyp rip. poor folks. Anytime you post a poem on a web site it is copy righted i undersatnd so if you post here it is dated and such like a copy right. I sometimes mail myself my own poems and never open the envelope another way of copy right sorta.
so what type of music do you play? rock? I am a rock-n roll fanatic but like jazz and hip hop dance mostly everything EXCEPT COUNTRY. Yulk on country
Well nice chatting. I will get some websites for you and send them your way soon a few days.
Peace Peace

My Music Passion....................

I have a keyboard, but I haven't gotten any sheet music yet,so I haven't played for awhile.but I usually play soft rock, and spiritual/inspirational,kindof like relaxation music. But mainly I sing, and I listen to Hip Hop and R&B,I can sing along to the Hip Hop and R&B,but I usually sing songs from artists like Bette Midler,Vanessa Williams,Mariah Carey, even male artists like Usher,Mario Winans,Luther Vandross, and I do sing some Country Music,I just love Collin Raye! But I'm not really a country fan,I can just sing country music, the boundries of which my voice can carry is pretty eclectic in the areas that I can sing.I wish I could upload my recording of me singing Bette Midlers "The Rose" for you all to hear, then you could see what I'm talking about! On the same CD I have me singing Backstreet Boys "God must have spent a Little More Time on you",and then a Country song from Collin Raye "The Gift",that's 3 different genre's on the same CD,all recorded in one night! 2 of them don't sound very good though ,because I had Pneumonia, and I couldn't breath to well, but I really wanted to get the CD done for Valentines gifts for my friends, and it was 2 days away.lol....I had my inhaler in one hand, and a Sprite in the other.LOL........Crazy huh!.....But "The Rose" came out really well, since it was the first one I sang, before my lungs were shot! lol...

2 More Poems I Think We Can All Relate To.....

The first one is about relationships/dating...
"Counterfeit"

Don't you just hate it when things are great.
Then the next time you turn around, you find out it's all fake.
Love,and loyalty,burnt to the crisp.
Walking around,lost in the mist.

The mist of confusion, wondering what went wrong.
Was it him?
Was it me?
I go back in time,however I still can't see.

How can I ever believe in reality?
When there are counterfeit masks all over society?

This one is about people judging you, without knowing what you've been through!
"Life in My Shoe's"

Let's take a walk down the path of my life.
Look all around, can you see all the strife?
Try being me,and having this life.
A Life this hard,it's sharper than a knife.

Around each corner is something to bear.
Look over there, the grass is so green.
Don't you wish we could be there?
Well,wishes are wishes.

And in my life.
Dreams are always just dreams.
Do you think you could last on this path in my shoe's?
Don't even try it,I guarantee you will lose.

That's how it is, with Life in my Shoe's!

I know you can all relate to that in one way or more, but at least you know now that there is someone here that understands how you feel!

Why Keep Sharing my Poetry if......................

Why keep sharing my poetry if nobody is going to respond to it.It doesn't come easy to some people to be a published writer, and I'm sharing my work, and it's just not being noticed, why even share, maybe you can spend the $60.00 to buy the book instead of getting the writings for free.Should I stop sharing and just let you buy the book,or keep sharing,so you can read them for free? Out of the kindness of my heart!
