Our 17th wedding anniversary.....

I woke up to beautiful flowers, dark chocolate truffles, a CD,
scratch off lottery tickets and a lovely card.
Today is our 17th wedding anniversary.
Time really does fly.
Can't believe we have lived 12 1/2 years here in louisiana.
I have a wonderful husband!

We went to a work shop today about relationships...basically about the individual.
It was given by a Dr. James Hollis, a clinical psychologist from houston.
He has a jungian mind frame work and we talked a lot about the ego and
how it has effected our lives.

He said it was easy to be addicted to habit.
He also said that we often react to things as adults as we learned from childhood. Especially if our history was filled with anxiety. That a lot of our problems are with authority issues.
That in our second half of life we work on our own personal authority. To take control of this ourselves to become our own authority.

He said that we can experience a haunting of sorts...that which is the unlived life. ..

The challenge is to find out what is really true to you and then find the courage to live it.

I am listening to the new sound track from Downton abbey.
Love it!
Hubby gave it to me today. We will watch the final episode of season 3 tonight I think.
We have watched all three seasons 3 times so this is it until the new season in January.
The show will be seen in england sooner than that so am hoping that someone posts the episodes on you tube!

I may have a virgin bloody mary tonight, that seems to quench the desire for alcohol.
Have been drinking plain water with stevia sweetener at night and chewing gum after dinner, makes my jaws hurt but then I don't snack.

Today is day 13. Feeling really strongly with resolve to stay alcohol free.
My weight is coming down so that is good.

We will go out for a special dinner tonight, don't think that they take reservations but will try later when they open. Maybe we can eat around 7 or so.

It has been a great day and foresee the rest of our day to be just as great!

Marcellos wine cafe was very crowded, 45 minute wait was only 10 minutes so that was a pleasant surprise.
I did have a virgin bloody mary, charged us full price, should have been half price in my book! oh well.
WE started off with some warm soft bread with some sort of butter on it, there was not any dipping olive oil or dip...it did not need anything.
WE decided on the stuffed portabella mushroom with crab and shrimp. It had a creamy sauce over it all which I thought was delicious, jeff said it was too much. Then I had a cup of artichoke and shrimp soup which was light and the shrimp was not over cooked! It was perfect.
My entree was delicious. I had the drum( a fish)....it was covered with fresh tender asparagus, lemon, capers and mushrooms. I loved this dish!
Jeff had some sort of lobster and seafood, and pasta, not his favorite, says he should have ordered the chicken marsala. WE each had a side of sauteed spinach which was quite garlicy and salty but very very good.
WE were full but went ahead and looked at the desert menu.....Jeff decided on a snifter of quantro and I had a lemon tart. WE shared the desert. It was so tart and wonderful, the freshly whipped cream on top helped to tame down the lemon flavor. I loved it!
Our server was great, student working on his masters MBA. He was very attentive and wished us a happy wedding anniversary.
We are happy and are getting ready to watch the last episode of downton abbey....this is our 3rd time watching all 3 seasons and won't watch it again till the season starts again in january or unless someone else posts them on you tube ahead of time.
anyway what a great meal! What a great day!
