MRI results

I got the results from the Spine and Neck MRI that I had on Friday. Although I have "nnumerable" lesions on my brain, I'm not showing any lesions in my neck or spine.

The report did indicate a 1.4cm nodule on my thyroid (which might explain why my hair is falling out and why I've gained 60 pounds in the last 6 months!) and a vascular tumor on my T6 vertebrae.

And the hits just keep on coming...I'm not going for any more tests at this point. Nothing good comes from them!!!

Wow. You sure got your results fast. Did the results bring about a diagnosis?

Don’t let the observation of “numerable” brain lesions throw you. The number or placement of lesions is not necessarily an indication of how severe your disease is or will become. Some folks who clearly have MS don’t develop visible lesions right away.

As for me, when I asked the doctor how many lesions I have, he just said "too many to count." Yet I believe myself to be lucky. I've had MS for a very long time, and I still get around perfectly well with my walker. I doubt that I'll ever get bad enough that I can't take care of myself. (knock wood)

Big hugs!

Much like Real Estate, it's all LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION - my first MRI, and all of the other ones after it, have said 'numerous hyperintensities - or lesions, in the brain, corpus callosum, white matter, brain stem and spine - and other places that I can't remember the name of'.

Having sad that, 12 years down the track, I am doing ok, and I know other people with only a couple of lesions, but in a much worse place than me and they are affected quite badly.

Glad you got your results back quickly; now you can act on the various problems and I hope get some of your mojoe back...

I have 26 lesions, none in "the right place" in neuro's opinion...but based on the number plus the symptoms, he believes it's MS.

Take care of yourself, and keep us updated on how you're doing:hug::hug:

I had an MRI in a 3T machine for the first time today. Previously all of them have been on a 1.5 - and the difference was amazing!

While as I said before, I have numerous lesions, today, my brain looked like someone had a party and threw confetti in there. Most likely not new ones, as the main culprits were all there - just brighter and clearer, but whole sections that I never knew were affected were lighting up because the slices were so much finer, and there were so many more pictures and areas never shown before.

Darn it - there is a big party going on in there, and all I get to do is clean up the mess they cause afterwards!

my neuro insists on only using 3T MRI machines because they are much more specific...

I am sure you weren't invited to the party in your brain Lynn...they sound like crashers to me-literally;)

When my Neuro read my first positive MRI report, she said, "wow, the way this sounds I should not be looking at a functioning person!" But I was fine....just had some weird symptoms that kept popping up.

You can have lots of lesions with minimal disability and just a few with major repercussions.

I'm glad you have no lesions in your spine as that is what typically affects your mobility.
