Jack Osbourne on Dancing w/t Stars?!

Currently just a rumor. The cast announcement is Sept 4, so we'll see.

Valerie Harper is also rumored.

SallyC 08-29-2013 09:34 PM

OMG, Valery Harper is older than I am and she was recently DX
with terminal brain cancer. Although I've heard recently that,
she may be in remission. I hope that's true and she'll be on DWTS.:)

Don't watch the Osbourne's reality show, but Kelly won so why
not Bro Jack, who was recently DX with MS. Hope he wins.

If Jack is on DWTS then I'm happy for him. Glad he's still able to do those kind of things. When my sx first became apparent I could still walk with no problem. Not now, though. I'm just waiting for the comments about how he can still do all these things so I must be exaggerating my own sx of MS.

I have mixed emotions about Valerie Harper being on this show. It is a live show, after all. Another rumor is that she is paired with Tristan and that they have already been practicing. Normally the pairs are only given a week to get ready for the show. It is suspected that she's being allowed to test herself to see if she can physically do this. And Sally, Valerie is 74.

Poor Tristan! He is one of the most popular male pro dancers and he is always given a "broken" celebrity. Jennifer Grey was his only contender but she went in with back problems and wound up dropping out because.

Hope Jack does well, if that rumor is true! And yes, Kitty, I bet a lot of people will be hearing what you expect.

My info is coming from http://forums.televisionwithoutpity....ith-the-stars/.

Mods...if this should be moved to The Stumble Inn, go for it.

I get so tired of people comparing MSers. We all have it, but we all have it different. Similar symptoms, but different ways. That saying, "you don't get MS until you get MS" is so true. I know a man who has MS and his gf has MS and he goes to the gym lifts weights rides his mountain bike and she can barely get out of bed and doesn't do a lot and all he does is yell at her because she doesn't even clean the kitchen. Now, to me that's aweful. He should know better than anyone that each MSer suffers differently.

Yepp.... they'll see Jack spinning and dancing then think... Ohhhh, Eric has MS...it doesn't seem bad, look at Jack go:rolleyes:

Yah....I went from hucking jumps on my mountain bike to barely getting to 10th gear and maintain balance, to using an old fart cane, episodes of incontinece fun, dead hands....OH! that is new! My wrist are as limp as wet noodles today!! and they go BBBZZZZZZZZZZZZZ....feels so funny I almost laughed....NOT!

All this within a year.

Go Jack Go....

Bad mood I am....I'll leave now.....take care.

Latest rumor: he's to be paired with Cheryl Burke. She's won the mirror ball trophy, what? 3 times?

Sparky10 10-28-2013 09:17 PM

Jack has now survived Week 7. He earned his first perfect score of 10 tonight. I could see a little MS in him. At the end of his first dance he and Cheryl ran up a big flight of stairs. He trailed slightly behind. And at some part I watched him walk and saw just a bit of a hitch in his gitalong. He talked about being so tired and not knowing if it's MS fatigue or just having to learn two dances this week. Had to roll my eyes at Cheryl's response to that. "We're all tired." Heard that one myself many times:rolleyes:.

Cher will be a guest judge next week. I can't figure out what's happening with the show. They bring in such a big name, to attract viewers I guess, but have changed the whole format and shortened it to one night a week so that, to me, it is not as watchable. Can't figure out if the show has lost favor or what.

I have watched Jack with interest all season. Tonight he really seemed tired. I often wonder what they may give the dancers the day of the show to get them through the night. I know a lot of them are in pain and never show it. Yeah, I noticed Jack was a step behind Cheryl running up those stairs. I'm not sure he deserved a 10 but he is doing well. If this were last season Cher might be judging one night and then would perform the next. I would record the results show and fast forward through all her performance. I am surprised sometimes on So you think you can dance at some of the actors/actresses who are guest judges and some f them seem to have a lot of dance knowledge. But ballroom and Latin is different. I just may watch DWTS on the DVR next week so I can do some fast forwarding.

His team got a "10" last night. Sometimes I wonder if the scores are fixed or preplanned. I don't wish him anything but the best but it sure would be a great service to all MSers if he could comment on the difficulties of dancing with MS. Even just comment on fatigue. But I see he did mention being tired and someone chimed right in with the typical non-MSer comeback.
