symptoms wax and wane?
Do people find that some days are fine and others not?
Like noise sensitivity. Some days, I can be around lots of noise and fine. Some days even the sound of the air conditioner is intolerable. It makes me feel crazy because of the wide range. Is it normal? |
I find that my symptoms change hour to hour! I also get moments of total clarity where I feel 100%... Sometimes I have light sensitivity, sometimes noise sensitivity, sometimes neither, sometimes both. Thank God my headaches went away after 3 weeks of hell. I really sympathize with those of you who have to deal with constant headaches.

My wife took a few months to realize that the me she sees now is not always going to be the me she sees in the next few minutes , hours or later that same day.
I have a constant headache that is tolerable on my meds, but with the current dosage of daily meds, I get no warnings of my Acute headaches, and when they hit can be down for hours to a couple days taking other meds. Its nuts, but we must persist. And my wife is doing so much better.......... Best Wishes. :grouphug: |
My son goes thru this a lot. Some days he is so "on" and can even get ready in the mornings before I am ready. Other days he can't even find the bathroom.
The days he has these set backs, it seems as if he is so very tired. I think that the brain just gets tired and doesn't function well until it gets rested up...just like the rest of our bodies. I know it's hard. Hang in there. |
Concussion - Did you start the tremors after beginning the Topamax? My doctor told me to let him know immediately if I had tremors.

Just Breathe,....I think if it's normal for you it's normal.
I've had the same issues. Some days I can't even tolerate the sound of water running during the shower...other days I don't even notice it. What I miss most is my music. I love listening to it but it irritates me so much now! Some days I just curl up on my bed, wrap a towel around my eyes, put in my ear buds and just breathe and try to block out the world. I find that no matter how I try to describe this to non-concussed people, they just don't get how bad it can be. Everyone here, unfortunately, knows first hand how bad it can be. Quote:

A big part of the day to day and hour to hour roller coaster is quality of sleep and intensity of cognitive effort. It is very easy to overload the PCS brain with sensory stimulation or cognitive effort. It is also difficult for the PCS brain to get good sleep. Both make for quite a wild ride.
We have a term for this question in my house. "Is this a driving day ?" It relates to how well I am able to process and tolerate my days' tasks and environment. |
Wndswptlady,
No, my tremors have been sporadic and present since the injury. |
