Luna

is BIG and FULL (or nearly full) tonight. Makes me wonder if the moon has any affect on CRPS. Thing that make me go hummm.....

yep.. I'm going hummmm :)

(Bram finds in dusty cupboard and puts on her sciency hat)

Well. It's an interesting idea, I've noticed the big harvest moon effect myself - there's perhaps a chance it might be influencing us Vrae. After all, barometric pressure changes affect CRPS, and tidal forces from the moon are a massive influence on the planet as a whole, pulling enormous masses of water this way and that as it moves relative to the earth - when you think of the heightened effect from a spring tide, or a winter storm, maybe those same gravitational forces can affect us in some way too. After all, our bodies are 80% water...and now super sensitive to every darn feeling lol.

Ooooooo more research opportunities. Come on you scientists!! Maybe I should dust my degree off a little more and look into it myself :winky:

Hope your evening is better Vrae

Sorry, nearly forgot.

Hummmmmmm

Thats an interesting point. I have always liked looking at the moon and stars. Always wondering what makes them or rather the earth move like it does. The moon affects everything differently than the sun like Bram said. It makes the tidal pull, it also makes people go a bit bonkers. Just any ER staff what a full moon means. Lots and lots of people end up in the ER on those nights. It also makes animals act a bit bonkers. We would see a ton more animals in the vet clinics I worked in around that time. I haven't thought of this in a few years. Well thats another thing for me to research. Our moods change at that time of month. A lot more babies are born then too. It could very well affect our pain then taking us further down the road our emotions are already going. Huh. This will be a fun research project lol. Instead of me always looking up the effects of certain treatments on our pain and moods. Sorry Bram i'm gonna steal it lol. Hummmmmmmm very interesting. Very very interesting. If as some people call them (but not me I know better and mine would kill me if I even thought it) dumb beasts can feel the effects then why not us. There are more deer that are hit by vehicles and more dogs and cats hit also around a full moon. Its not just because its lighter out and they can see. Its like they know stuff we don't. I am going to have to talk to my game warden friend about this. It just might be. It just might be.

Nobody steals from me lol :p

How about a joint venture - you look at the physiological side of things from your vet knowledge, I'll look at planetary, atmospheric and cosmological forces from my earth scientist knowledge. Between us we'll have a major breakthrough in weeks.....:winky:

Sounds good to me lol. We are about to get a storm through here also later this evening. I got a big ole charlie horse in my calf lol. My cats are acting very frisky thanks to the full moon too. It was beautiful to be outside so early this morning and seeing it. Now they are packed around me like so many sardines lol. If you think about it animals know things we don't. Think of the elephant that took off with a little girl on its back during that nasty tsunami about 6 yrs back I think. They head for higher ground during a full moon. My brats usually try to get on the highest surface that will support their weight and size lol. They are big cats weighing more than 15 lbs each. Not many in this house. My dog which is 60 lbs tries to climb on me on the couch. Even driving to town the dairy cows are all piled up on the mound of stinky disgusting dirt they have piled in each paddock. Poor cattle. The places stink and they are constantly subjected to the smell. I smell it on base when the wind dies or blows from that direction. If you just watch them they will tell you what to expect. We as "the most intelligent species on earth" have gotten away from watching the signs around us. Shoot even I have and I would watch my brats to know what I needed to do when I was younger. They also give us signs of when we aren't mentally stable and try to stabilize us, or when we hurt they tell us. Mine are telling me right now to feed them dang it lol. There are native tribes in the amazon, and africa that do pay attention though and they don't have as many problems as us. Crap goin to have to take a pain med today. Its gonna be a day lol.:D
