Morning all (posting from UK),

In 2007, I was struck with overwhelming fatigue & weird sensations below left knee. It calmed down after a few months, or I got used to it, but had spells where the fatigue was affecting me day to day. Spinal cord lesions found, neuro DX transverse myelitis as it was a CIS. MS was mentioned but that was it.

It carried on like that til earlier this year, when the toes on my left foot started to feel 'wrong', I'm generally more tired, have constant hand tremors.. I also get horrible pain in the back of my neck that goes through head to behind eyes.

As it stands it's still TM, but would TM cause hand tremors and neck/eye pain years after initial symptoms?

To the best of my knowledge, TM generally causes symptoms of numbness, paralysis and sometimes spasticity on both sides of the body below the level of spinal lesion, but partial TM can cause symptoms just on one side of the body. The numbness usually starts in the feet and then works its way upward toward the level of the lesion.

It sounds like your 2007 bout with it may have been a partial TM; with the lesion level somewhere in the lumbar area.
That was what happened in my case.

If your current symptoms were from TM or partial TM, a lesion would need to be fairly high up (neck area) to affect the hands and head/neck area, but what you describe experiencing recently doesn’t sound like the typical symptoms of TM.

The symptoms of TM usually resolve over a period of months as well, which it sounds like it didn’t in your case from 2007. Thus it is also possible that you have an atypical type of TM or that you may have something else going on.

Have you made arrangements to get checked out? I think that would be the best thing to do.

even a Neuro/Optho would be a good idea.

Opthalmologist says sensitivity to light and blurred vision is neuro in origin as optic nerve/eyes are fine.

Noticed intention tremor in tongue when sticking tongue out at nephew too. Neuro nurse on vacation til next week, letter from GP hasn't reached neuro secretary at hospital x
