Count Down to Graduation!!!

Hello Ladies,

Can you believe it.....high school graduation in 8 days!!!! I will be stocking up on tissues, I tell you. It has been an adventure filled 4 years and he is graduating with honors (3.96 cum.) Monday is awards night and, though I don't know which ones, I know he is receiving many!!!

Honestly.....sometimes I feel like I am dreaming. God has blessed him and us after those horror filled years of middle school. He was accepted to many competative colleges and offered scholarships to many, too (Chemar...he is wait listed at the one we spoke about ;) ).

Ladies.....here's to you :grouphug: his guardian angels who had his back for so long. If you don't mind, say a prayer for the next four years, too. He will live at college and I do worry about this (I supppose all moms do). He is not the best at transitions and new social situations but he has come a tremendously long way and has found a great group of friends. The first real group that he has been part of (mostly had individual friends who were/are tremendoulsy loyal).

I'll let you know how the week goes. Any advice from college moms is appreciated ;) !

Take care,
Tessa

Dear Tessa,
I'm so sorry I've not been back to post to you before now. I feel really badly about that. I came here this morning and posted on another forum and then was coming here to post to you and I had to rush off in a hurry.

Congratulations to your son and to you of course! It's such good news to hear that he's been doing so well and it never ceases to bring me joy to read of these milestones as our children get older together. Some of our children did have some very tough years, but they got through them with much love and support and it all brings a bit of a tear to my eye. Not sad tear, happy tear!

You might be surprised at how well he does settling into college. Actually my son found it all so much better than school. Lots of interesting people from varied backgrounds and lots of common interests. It'll always be a worry for us, 'cause we're mothers. lol That's what we tend to do a lot of, even if we don't tell anyone. It'll be harder that he's living at college and not with you, but they're growing up now and finding their own way. That's what they need to do now. It's great he had his trip because that would have been good preparation too.

Much love to you Tessa. I hope all went well. :grouphug:

Thank you all......it has been a whirlwind week :) !

He is planning to study Classics....Latin and Greek language and studies. He excells at this and truly has a gift for languages. (Definitely does not take after his mom in this regard :winky: ). Though, honestly, he is great in math in sciences, too. He won every award for the classics at senior awards night.

Hard to believe that he's off to college in the fall.

My best to you all.

Take care,
Tessa

Congrats!

I am so happy for you Tessa and for your son.

You've both worked long and hard for this graduation. It is one of the peak moments of being a parent!

My son is going to be 26 next month! And I can't believe that!
He has started a new hobby... photography! And he is getting pretty good at it.
I guess we'll blink and you son will be graduating college and mine will be THIRTY. LOLOL
