Another sleepless night in GA...

Good morning everyone ! I've been up all night but not hurting much. Yesterday was the first clear headed, feel good day I've had in 2 weeks. Almost forgot what that felt like :)

The bottoms of my feet are swollen....the left worse than the right. If Mrs D reads this I was the one last week that went to the ER Alternative because the middle outside of my left foot was slightly swollen and the pain was horrible. They took x rays...not broke....thinks it is progression of the neuropathy. Told me to take my pain meds and stay off my feet. So I did and a week later I can still feel a little pain and if I have to leave the house and put on my sandals it starts with the 10+ pain and I wind up walking on my tippy toes. It is still slightly swollen but the bottoms of my feet being swollen is a new symptom for me.

I was up on my feet most of the day cleaning (which I rarely get to do)...remember I'm the one that has the mother that comes Mon - Fri from 11 to 3 everyday and washes clothes and dishes....lol....she is 82 and up until now I did for her. Also broke ground last week add on a mother in law suite to our house so she can move 2 houses up :)

This will be my first Georgia winter with SFN......I am now able to wear light weight socks and my feet seem to do better flat on my hardwood floors (weird ?). When I go out I'm in a sandal or flip flop but I have no idea what I will do when hard winter hits. Asked my daughter to look for those adidas slide on thingys that have that one strap over the top of the foot. I absolutely cannot wear a shoe at all. It sets all my nerves into overdrive...lol

Guess I could get some wacky socks to wear with them ?

I just read the thread on hypersensitive skin.....my problem is itching of the hands and arms. It that related to my neuropathy ? Is this stuff in my feet going to spread to my thighs, butt and on up ? I guess I've been so preoccupied with my feet I don't think about the rest of my body.

And finally....I LOVE this place.....makes me laugh out loud, cry and know I am not alone in this. The only person I know with this is an older gentleman that is in a wheelchair due to his neuropathy.

Have a good day y'all !

Sorry you are hurting more.

Narcotic pain drugs do cause swelling in some people. Sometimes switching to another drug may help.

There are diabetic socks...they are softer and larger and do not bind. WalMart has some. They are called Medipeds. I use them in white, but I don't wear socks much anymore.

There is a catalog called FootSmart... some of our posters get things there:

Some diabetic type socks are quite expensive. That is why I go to WalMart. They may be in the socks section OR the pharmacy area...seems they move them around alot.

It can be a challenge to find the right type of shoes, and socks.
Some of our RSD posters use a bamboo sock, and claim those are really good. There are many sellers online on Google. I haven't used these yet, but I've seen posts about them being really soft for people with foot pain.

I think I've had those socks in the past....

Hey Mrs D......I think my daughter bought them for me a few years ago and I laughed at her but she got them because they were soooo soft !

I believe they carry them at one of our local dollar stores......we don't have a WalMart...lol.....only 3,000 peeps here and I'm kin to most of them. I miss my 2 hour grocery shopping trips.....saw cousins and aunts and always 'stood' around and caught up with each other.

Have a good day and thanks for the link and info.
