Stopping Medication

I just flushed my Remeron. I've been taking it for maybe close to 2 months, a month and a half. I was taking 7.5 Mgs everynight. Is it okay for me to stop abruptly. I just moved to a new state and do not have a therapist or psychiatrist here.

I also flushed this medication that was prescribed to me from a Doctor at the smell and taste clinic in washington DC. It was suppose to help correct my distorted smell due to my fall. It's called Thioridazine and I was taking 10 mg of it a night. I know I should contact my healthcare provider to ask these questions but I just moved to a new state and dont have one as of now.

You should not be stopping these strong medications without a doctor to follow you in case you have troubling symptoms. I quit 14 years of Paxil / paroxetine. It took me three months to taper off while using L-Tryptophan as a replacement. The experience was miserable. Lots of strange symptoms.

Please be careful. Find a doctor to work with.

My best to you.
