Manicures?
Hi everyone. As I have mentioned, I will be participating in my sister's wedding. She is thinking about both of us getting gel nails. I have CRPS in my right hand (whole arm, actually). I am a bit worried about getting this done on my CRiPSy hand.
Has anyone had a manicure or gel nails (or other fake nails) on a CRiPSy hand? |

Sounds like a fun adventure to do with your sister. I agree with Renee, tell the manicurist. I have to tell people when they cut my hair, because a comb run through my hair that touches my scalp is misery, if the nail filing part is hard to tolerate, maybe you could do that part on the one hand, yourself. Then let the manicurist do the nail painting and other parts that you can more easily tolerate. Have fun and tell your sister we said hi?

Agree with Syl, I'm the same re toes and fingers - smooth the nails yourself, and just let them do the colour. Win win. I can't tolerate the manicure thing now (used to love em for a treat ) - the water is the wrong temp, the handling too rough, the cream irritates, the exfoliation a no-no.....grrr. I tried it after the CRPS and hated having to either stop the manicurist doing something, or explain why she couldn't do some part of her routine. It's nicer all round to just take care of anything tricky yourself, and give them a clear job that doesn't need extensive supervision or worry!
Have a lovely time - having your nails all pretty is guaranteed to make you feel special :winky: and you deserve a treat! Bram. |
Thank you so much, ladies! :D

Are you hypersensitive to being touched? If so, it might be miserable for you.
