Bms?????

just when i thought it couldn't get any worse... last week it was thrush from my injections. this week it's BURNING MOUTH SYNDROME!!!!! thank GOD my arm pain hasn't come full circle. i don't know if i could deal with ONE MORE THING.

i woke up at 1 in the morning and couldn't fall back asleep. my lips and tongue and throat have been on fire since the thrush outbreak. so i came over to the computer in the middle of the night, did a google search for burning lips, tongue, throat... check this out.

my friends and family think i'm completely nuts. i mean, i'm coming down with all of these strange things.

God help me...

I have had BMS symptoms since the RSD travelled to my head/ face/ jaw area, and I just attributed it to the RSD. It seems like just a small irritant will set RSD off in new areas for me (almost full body now)- I am not trying to scare you, but after I ran for the first time in months (and only had RSD in both hands/ arms/ shoulders) I woke up that evening and felt RSD in my feet. Just from my experience- MAYBE the thrush was enough to set the RSD off in your lips/ tongue?!

I am sending many soft hugs your way

I know what you are feeling- RSD is soooo nasty! And the face part is one of the hardest for me.

I too want to send (((Gentle hugs)) your way also!! gosh, your going through a lot! you will be in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you. I had this a long time ago and I believe it was due to a very strong antiobiotic I was taking at the time. My Dr. gave me some Lidocain to swish around to numb the pain. Thank God for that stuff! I hope you feel better real fast! Love, Desi

yeh IHH. me too. Do you get the awesome ulcers? and lose the skin from the inside of your mouth? I HATE it when all the skin goes mank and white/ yellow and falls off the ridge of your mouth because of the stupid pain. Grrr But, it is a good excuse to get out of curries though. May even one day encourage me to give up the dreadful habit (smoking). Hard to enjoy a cigarette when you feel your mouth is going to burn off.

Oh, yesterday my carer accidently got chilli in my eyes (raw, freshly cut chilli) and although it was sore it was nothing compared to the RSD!! seriously - it is absoloutly nothing at all! did show my friends how much RSD hurts!!!

Pain sucks.

Love

Dear 'Unrouley1', my Google Alert just picked up your BMS paragraph and I am always sorry to learn when there's a new sufferer out there. I'm glad you could figure out your ailment yourself, on the net. BMS is supposed to be so 'common' but doctors just don't know much about it. You will cringe at this, but I've had it for 2 years. It arrived just after I had both knees replaced. The people I've found (thru the Google Alert) seem to have started their BMS after an illness or surgery, especially mouth surgery. Here's how I live with it. The drug Lyrica... used for lots of things... helps a great deal. I had retired but am now able to substitute teach (elementary) and always have with me half frozen water bottles so I can sip all day (& run to the restroom every recess!) Late afternoons and evenings are no fun, as the mouth pain increases, but I am at home. I don't go anywhere after 4pm!Here's my email address, in case you want to 'talk' more. I wish you the best and that your BMS is only temporary! Kate Nelson
