Anyone here have Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome

Hi All
I have bilateral tarsal tunnel. Pain is worse on Rt but numbness is worse on Lt. I have symtomatic varicose veins on Rt I think why pain is worse on this side. Drs dont know why I have this cause I dont have diabeties and no HNPP or small fiber neuropathy. I had genetic blood test n skin biopsy. Dr tells me this is rare to have. I did read that varicose veins can cause tarsal tunnel .
Does anyone know what type of Dr has the most exp w this?
Has anyone been dx w this and or has had surgery for this?
Frustrated here need help!!!

It is not so rare. People with low thyroid can have this easily.

I'd suggest you try some magnesium lotion on your instep and ankles. This improves circulation quite a bit.

Also keep the feet up whenever possible. Watch your salt intake and MSG in processed foods. MSG is terrible for foot pain.

This is the lotion:

Just apply about a quarter's diameter divided between the feet once a day.
WalMart stores have this in most of them now. Go online and search your zip code for the product on their website. If yours does not have it...ask the pharmacy to order it for you. My store carries this and has since it just came out a few months ago.
It is also on Amazon. Both places have it for a very low price.
You can also soak in epsom salts, and this works well too. But the lotion is much more convenient.

If you use blood pressure pills? What type do you take? ACE inhibitors may cause foot swelling. Also long term use of diuretics deplete magnesium.

The magnesium lotion gets into tissues where circulation is poor, and it really works well. I LOVE it ! ;)

I have never heard of this before. I gather that it affects the feet. A lot of us have issues with foot pain, swelling, burning, and numbness.

Mrs D- I have a spray magnesium oil (promedics neutraceuticals Ancient Minerals 3g per 30ml) that I take alongside magnesium supplements ( 50mg of elemental magnesium from mixed sources).
The oil burns when I apply it. So strange ! But man does it ever help. I heard that opiates can deplete magnesium stores, so I decided to keep on it.

The oil is not an oil....it is just so concentrated with magnesium that it is thick "like an oil"...If you read the ingredients you'll find no oils in it.

You might find soaking in epsom salts dissolved in warm water more gentle. The concentrated "oils" topical types are just like putting salt on your skin. If you have poor skin levels due to poor Omega-3 status in your diet, it will sting just like salt does.

Really appreciate the info.
I wiil look for this I never heard of this lotion. I do take magnesium pills dont know if there supposed to help circulation. I do have Raynauds. Wondering how does poor circulation cause tarsal tunnel? Does varicose veins cause poor circulation?
I dont have HBP n my thyroid was checked maybe 1 yr or so ago. Ive had this tarsal tunnel pain for 1 yr & 3 mos so I'm getting worried cause I read that surgery is not as successful if u have it longer than a yr.
Thanks Mrs.D

Were you diagnosed by EMG? One of my doctors thinks I have tarsal tunnel, but the neurologist and the doctor that did the EMG think it's peripheral neuropathy. I thought I might have tarsal tunnel due to my fallen arch on that side and I was kind of hoping it was that, not PN...

I think those here with tarsal tunnel problems may find that the
magnesium lotion (or soaking in epsom salts) will work to reduce the compression and improve circulation.

Morton's Epsom Lotion:

At WalMart's and Walgreen's or on Amazon. I use this every day...it is fabulous.
