Lyrica?

I been on it before and the worst side effect I had was the dizziness if I moved too fast. Anything else I should watch for this time? Doc hoping it will help me even if just to sleep

I don't take Lyrica so I don't know. But you can check online about this drug or ask your pharmacist. I opted to take Nuerontin for my rsd and fibromyalgia. I had dizziness for a while, but it wore off a little once my body got used to it. I still get dizzy at times, have memory loss, speech problems and get very sleepy from it, but it helps alot with rsd and fibro pain. I hope this helps you. Take care and have a good night.

I'm on Lyrica at the moment, but only a low dose of 50mg twice a day, which seems to help the worst of the stabbing type pains. I used to be on the high dosages (300mg three times a day) but had too mich dizziness and other brain fog type things to deal with... So they put me on Gabapentin. That was crazy stuff - it didn't help my pain at all, and wrecked my stomach, so I had to be taken off after a few months.

I coped with nothing for a month or so, but the pain just got too much, and I decided for myself to try the Lyrica again as it had been the most effective and had the least side-effects for me. I have found the low dose actually more effective than higher doses, and it strikes an ok balance between pain relief and being able to function fairly normally.

I'd say not to titrate up to the higher doses too quickly, but take it slow if you can bear to. When you find a level that helps without affecting you too much, try to stick with that for as long as poss.

Sorry, bit of ramble today!

Bram.

Thank. Ya gabapentin n clonidine were horrible for me. I went psychotic, slept all the time, woke up ****** off, hated life. Became suicidal.

I have bilateral RSD in my feet (mild). On Lyrica (100mg BID) I have no pain in my left foot, but not so successful with my right foot. I have mild dizziness and weight gain, otherwise, I don't notice any side effects. Just started on Nuedexta and have been receiving laser therapy. One or both of these seem to be helping. Ive been on lyrican since 2011.. I dont think it does anything.. but they put me on lyrica in place of the HORRIBLE Nuerontin(gabepentin) now the neurontin made me a breathing living zombie with NO quality of life. my kids called me ten second Tom and I couldnt function, I sat tthrough movies I cannot remember ,had conversations which might as well have not happened. back to Lyrica.. I started at 250 mg 2x a day I was jsut knocked down again another 50 mgs to 50 mg a day.. I dont have any use for it... sorry if that didnt help

Ok so I took lyrica first time last night before bed as instructed, I woke up and was like um ya came out to kitchen for a drink, I swear there was a light on, woke a gain few hours later n different lights were on, didn't wanna get up this morning, finally dragged myself out of bed and for an hour I felt like I had a mild hangover, coffee time! 3 cups later I'm feeling better but still no desire to get dressed

The grogginess should pass in a few days as your body gets used to it. Take it easy for a while, and hopefully you will start to feel some positive effects soon.

Good luck!

Bram.

I don't take Lyrica, I take 1800 mg of Nuerontin each day. (Sometimes an 1900 mg daily on really bad pain days). So I can't really give any advice on this, but I hope you adjust to it soon and that it helps you. I have alot of side affects with Nuerontin like dizziness, drowsiness, forgetfullness, nausea, shakiness and slurring of speech. I still have those side effects, but there not as bad. So maybe, like Bram said, in a few days yours will pass. I hope they do and you feel better soon.
