Thank you for the link, scrubbs. It was interesting to search. As luck would have it, my county provides no platinum plans.

I think the biggest problem right now for many of us is finding out if anything will cover IVIG. Even 90% coverage through insurance would leave most of us who use IVIG financially devastated.

My father has prostate cancer and is 85 years old. He uses a hormone implant for treatment, and has for 16 years. He went for his usual appointment last week, and was told by the urologist that he will no longer provide the treatment, as the he doesn't get reimbursed anymore by medicare and insurance due to my father's advanced age. My mom said, "I didn't think they were going to start letting us die already!" Of course I am now gearing up to find out what's going on there!

These are scary times. Let's all keep everyone posted on what we learn in the next months.

I know everybody needing infusions are really worried right now and I hope they will find help before the end of the enrollment period.

Even if your fathers lives in a state that refused the Federal Medicare dollars, that should not come into play until the end of the year unless those states are already cutting their own states Medicare funds but that does not make sense because the are still receiving Federal funds until the end of December.
