RSD spread to mouth after dental work??

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been gone for so long, life just gets in the way sometimes. But I need your help. Recently (around February) I had extensive dental work done, and now my jaw/teeth HURT constantly, and I'm really afraid that my RSD has spread to that area... Does anyone know if this is possible or have any experience with it? It's been a few months now with this pain on and off and it's only getting worse- even things like orajel don't help... Please help!

I did have spread to my jaw, then teeth and tongue. It kept getting more intense and spreading further. It was miserable to eat, talk or even breath. :(

I had a few SGB's and the problem went away and has not come back, but I tend to respond well to treatment.

Sorry you are having more pain. My RSD started in my face over 22 years ago. I bit a rock that was in my food at a mexican restaurant. After failed root canals, I lost my three back bottom teeth. I ended up getting implants and a bridge. All that trauma caused the RSD. So, yes it is possible to get it from dental work :(

I was treated very aggressively, with SGB's and meds, and went into remission for many years.

Hope you get some relief soon!

I had a failed root canal and abscess shortly after getting rsd. I also broke three teeth months after rsd just by eating things like cereal. I had a tooth pulled from the failed root canal and just before that was done, the gums in my mouth were so swollen and sore I could only eat soft things like pudding and liquids for about a week. And I just had a crown put on a tooth, and need extra novacaine and painkillers when I get things like this done now because I'm more sensitive to pain from the rsd. I don't know if the gum swelling, pain and broken teeth were related to rsd, but being that it happened right after, I think it was. My doctors aren't sure. They all tell me something different. Some say it does spread and others say it they are not sure.

Mouth RSd and what will help it.

I had a lower molar pulled and no block was done...
I was able to get it settled down. I got a prescription lidocaine mouthwash that numbed the mouth.
I used a homeopathic remedy that seems to be great for RSD pain flares,
Arsenicum 6x or 30 x several times during the day.

Cranial work on the mouth helped a lot too. The pain tightened everything up, and the cranial work took the pressure off.

It took me about 2-3 months to get it settled down.
Now I know we need 1 block for upper work, and 2 blocks for lower work.

If your dentist won't do the block(s) find another dentist, or an endodontist.
They can do the block on you if you can coordinate to get right over and in the dentist chair, have everyone on stand by for you to be worked on right away.

My drs never even discussed blocks. I wish they had when I had dental work done. They did prescribe extra percs for me though that helped with the pain. I didn't need them for more than about a week, but will consider discussing blocks with them next time around myself. My left upper tooth is throbbing right now. It doesn't always hurt, but the pain comes and goes. The denstist said there's nothing wrong with it, so I can't help but wonder if its the rsd spreading to my mouth. I just don't know and neither do any of my drs. It's so frustrating.
