duplicate: Does anyone relate to tbi

I am the caretaker of a tbi survivor. He's had this injury for a little over 6 years now and I have been his home health aid for a little over 8 months. He had OT and PT and speech therapy in the past. And continues to have OT and PT as of now. Also we do adls and stretches at home. Matthew is unable to walk and has little control over limb movement. Matthew is pretty cognitively aware of his surroundings, is able to play card games, and responds with hand signals when asked questions or when spoken to.

I just want to know if anyone out there has suffered the same limitations or knows someone who has suffered the same, and what their recovery has been. Like I said, I have only been with Matthew for about 8 months. He is my first client to have a tbi, and I want to know as much as I can. Is there any hope for further recovery??

please share your stories!!

Aren't you kind to try to learn as much as possible!
My injury is not like Matthew's, but continual progress(at varying rates) occurs until humans die. That is how the brain works.
Hope he continues to improve. Lots of stimulation and challenging the brain!
