Extreme Uncontrollable Shaking, Muscle/Leg Pain, Car Accident?
 

Hi everyone, just trying to see if anyone has experienced this before and may have an ideas as to what's going on.


I was a passenger in a car accident nearly a year ago. My head and knees slammed into the dashboard, then jerked my body body backwards to where the back of my head, back, hips, etc. slammed into the seat.

I never lost consciousness, I was still able to walk even though there was a lot of pain and my knees would give out at times, my eye became slightly bloody, broken eyebrow bone, head swelling, bruising all over my body, etc. Later that night when I decided to go to the doctor, as soon as I stepped outside into the cold air, my body began shaking uncontrollably. Extreme shaking.

The ER doctor just put me on Ibuprofen for pain and told me to get eye drops for my eyes. No test or anything.

Well, I seem to be getting worst as of the last few months. I am still having extreme shaking fits, I noticed my body temperature dropping to 97-something instead of 98-something during the shaking fits, I have high sensitivity to the cool air off and on to where I mainly have to keep the heater on, I have very bad body chills - flu like symptoms, after shaking for a while - my heart and legs begin to ache and tremble, feeling like they are trying to shutdown on me.


Has anyone experienced anything similar after head/knee injury? My doctor has ran test to check my thyroid, blood cells, diabetes, urine tests, etc. but he keeps telling me there's nothing wrong. I've been to two different hospitals and the emergency doctors did leg/chest x-rays and also said there's nothing wrong. Clearly, something IS wrong. All I can think of is the car accident, because this is when it began happening.

I'm feeling hopeless when it comes to getting diagnosed. These body shakes are very scary. Every time it happens, it feels like I'm going to die. I looked up Parkinson, MS, etc. but their shakes are different. The shakes I have are very noticeable by everyone. The medical staff kept asking me why I was shaking so badly as if I knew - they made it seem like they've never seen shakes like mines before.

I am rather surprised you have not had an x-ray and/or MRI of the brain and spine to check for any damage that might have occurred :confused:

Psychological and emotional reactions can happen after a traumatic event such as the car accident your were in. The shaking you are experiencing can be one of those reactions.

You may want to consult with a Mental Health Provider (Psychotherapist, Psychiatrist) to discuss your accident and the shaking you have been dealing with.

Our body temperature can fluctuate throughout the day. Having a temperature of 97. is still considered normal and nothing to worry about. I usually run anywhere from 92-97 and my doctors have never been concerned.

Please do not focus on your body temperature, I personally do not believe that it has any bearing on your shaking ;)
