Question about retainer and abcessed tooth
 

I just got braces off.

I have a permanent retainer on top and bottom.I overused white strips years ago which is causing my enamel to thin, I fear I amy have an absessed from tooth. ( the tooth hurts and the lymph node on the neck hurts)

I have a dental x-ray appointment in 7 days and am worried. If I need a crown or root canel, worst case maybe a fake tooth. What would happen if they needed to take out one of my front teeth.

I dont know if anything is wrong or not I am just worried
