Possible seizure symptoms?

Hi gals (:

It has been a while since I posted. A lot has happened, many triggers thus many migraines & possible seizures.

The good news is that I have a Neurology apt on Nov 20th at a very good teaching hospital - MUSC. I am excited to be getting some long-term treatment & maybe even some more specific answers C:

I have had a few very obvious CPs in the last few weeks, as well as a Migraine (most with auras) atleast once a week since I was here last. I even had a migraine w/o the headache yesterday (I rarely get these) which caused me a lot of stress & static with the boss at my job.

There has been a new "phenomenon" with me the last couple of weeks that I could use some advice on. I have not been getting good quality of sleep lately (because of stress mainly) which increases my migraines & seizures.

What will happen:
> I will all of a sudden get extremely tired
> I feel like I am in an aura, but yet not quite? basically like a dreamlike state
> I will get an extreme migraine-like headache
> I will then walk around/or fumble aimlessly, almost unknowingly and repetitively
Then:
< I will come out of the trance
< The headache will disappear
< I will even feel a bit rested after about half an hour

The odd thing, is many of times I will be moody or cranky for the rest of the day. Although that just be because I am confused?

Could this possibly be some type of seizure activity?

I can not wait until my apt in mid Nov. Until then I am not sure what to do about work, except try to pull thru ):

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Sincerely,
Sweets <3

Hi Sweets,

Before I started having sz. I had migraine headaches which can be connected to epilepsy. From what you are describing you may be having CP sz. or if you notice this happening when you first go to bed and then when you wake up you may be having myoclonic sz.
I've had cp sz. for many yrs. and I will often wander around, if anyone is around you ask them to see if you are smacking your lips, or possibly pulling at your clothing along with the wandering around, these are all signs of cp sz. and I've found taking vimpat the best thing to control them.

I wish you only the best of luck and May God Bless You!

Sue

Thank you for the quick and thorough replies ladies :)

I appreciate the information I get here, but most of all I appreciate the sincerity and the caring.

I will definitely come back and post about my appointment, specially because I'll probably have like a bazillion questions :p

I was kind of worried is was a type of CP or complex migraine-aura considering I seem to get those most frequent. I just wonder if there is actual seizure activity, or if it is just a migraine-type illness. But I have read and heard the same thing from many professionals and sufferers: migraines and epilepsy are very similar, and may even be closely related.

I can not wait until this appointment. I am terrified that I will leave from this specialist with more questions than answers :icon_confused:

Hi Sweets
My name is Synnove. I would like to ask you some questions about your migrane;
How would you describe the aura you get before a migrane?
How would you disribe the migrane you get without an aura ?

I hope your appointment with the neurologist at the teaching hospital will answers some questions for you.

I just had a 72 hour video observation EEG done, and I had to be in hospital for 3 days. This was due to something similar as you. Unfortunately, during the periode of the test, I did not have any "episode" of any seizure like symptoms, so I am still wondering what is going on.

When you have migrane, how long does it last?
And how often in gneral? Could it go weeks between any migrane?

Mine is like "Ice Pick" migrane that comes on and off during a few hours.
