Perceptive therapy dog

I think I mentioned someplace that my wife recently trained ol' Furface to fetch her shoes/slippers. Last night it paid off in an unsuspected way. I was having a bad night pain-wise (change of seasons?) combined with a case of the fumbles, and dropped the remote, which took a bounce and landed a few feet away. I bent over from where I was sitting, reaching but not able to reach it. Ol' Furface got up, picked up the remote, and handed it to me! It totally blew me away.

Triple treat reward for that good boy! :D

Animals are awesome! Furface sounds very cool! Thanks for sharing.

From Therapy Dog to Therapy Gofer...

Following the above incident, we taught Ol' Furface to deliver the remote betwixt us when we're sitting on opposite sides/ends of the room—no more tossing it back & forth and chasing after near misses or accidentally getting bonked/conked!
.

Last week (& this) things have progressed still further (further still?) DW found a small basket (
.
), and we've trained him to carry it—with whatever will fit in it (remotes, notes, flashlight, keys, etc.)—back & forth across the room or across the house.

Cool. :cool2:
