Additional help
Hi everyone,
First off, I wanted to thank you for the support that was offered me about 3 months ago. Anytime that someone cares for another human being and offers advice, I respect it. In terms of my situation, I'm about close to 5 months deep with my post concussion. The first month was horrible...could barely sleep, eat, was nauseous all the time, dizzy, all the regular symptoms that people w/ concussions get. I definitely got better within these last few months, but I still feel like I have a million different improvements to make. In short: -exhausted all the time - mainly b/c I do not sleep well and if I go to bed at 12, I'm always wide awake at 4am. This IS effecting my job. -anxiety - took antidepressants, seemed to help, still get the nagging anxiety -headache - dull headache at all times -brain cloud/fog - this is by far the worst for me. I started a new job about a month and a half ago, and it's really been a struggle with my brain always so damn cloudy. -memory - feels shitty forgetting something 20s after someone spoke. -being dumb - To summaraize, is this normal 5 mos post concussion? I just want to get back to normal. I want to be able to converse with others and feel like the same person I did previously. As of now, I feel like a shell of my former self. The memory and the brain fog are the worst for me. I'd like to improve these. If anyone here is from Calgary, AB, I'd love to speak with you. Please PM me. My schedule is tough - 2 uni classes, 40 hrs of work, studying for the CFA exam, but it is definitely doable. So far, my concussion is keeping me from doing this. Other than that, I am taking a vitamin concoction - potassium, magnesium, vit b6, fish oil, vit d3, etc. I'm open to any and every ideas. I do NOT want to be the 5-15% of people who suffer with PCS their entire lives? Any advice, I am ready for it, please advise me. Kind regards, Brad |
Slow down, be sure you are including some B-12 and B-50 complex,
There are plenty of people who tried to keep up the push with no recovery until they slowed down or even stopped most or all activity. Your brain needs rest. |
