Does any of this sound familiar?

Hi everyone,
I stumbled across this website today after relentlessly searching the internet for possible causes for my symptoms. I know that is not the greatest thing to do, but I have gone to sooo many doctors with no diagnosis that I thought I would do some searching myself. I believe I need to see a neurologist but my physician keeps telling me that I just have anxiety problems. So I was wondering if any of you have experienced any of the symptoms that I have had, for over a year now, and if it doesn't warrant a visit to a neurologist? My biggest complaint is I am constantly lightheaded, almost like my brain isn't getting the blood flow that it needs. My vision gets hazy and blurry but I have had vision tests done that confirm my 20/20 vision. I get neck and head pain just on the left side. I sometimes see flashes of lights in my vision, and ringing in both of my ears. My sleep is terribly messed up, never feels like I get into a deep sleep, then I wake up even more lightheaded and almost panicky. These are the major symptoms I have been experiencing, so if any of you have any insight as to what I may be dealing with or anything that sounds familiar to you, could you please let me know. I might have to break down and go to a different doctor who will refer me to a neurologist. Thanks so much in advance!

Hello Lynny

Welcome to Neuro Talk. Hope you get a lot of people to talk to. Did you experience any kind of knock to your head? So many things can be neurological that it is almost impossible to really guess at it. None of us are professionals. However if I were in your shoes, and I felt I needed to see a neurologist, I would go. You know your body better than anyone. Tell your PCP, don't just ask, that you want to see a neurologist. Do some research on the physicians in your community. You want the A student, and one that will listen. If your Primary doctor doesn't want to listen, you may want to consider a new one there too. It is essential to really have some good doctors in your corner while you seek answers. Keep a journal of all of the symptoms, times a day etc. Also bring someone with you to the appointment. Doctors have a tendency to listen better when someone else is in the room with you. I wish you all the best. ginnie:grouphug:

Thanks for the advice

Thanks for replying. I have recieved a few knocks to my head in fact. About 3 years ago I took a hit to the head on a heating vent. As a matter of fact it was on the left temple too. I never thought too much about it because I never experienced any symptoms after the fact. Can you go a few years after a hit to the head and experience symptoms? Also about 10 years ago I tripped going dowstairs and pretty much rolled to the bottom step, I imagine I hit my head there too. Anyways, thanks for the insight if things don't start getting better I definately should get in somewhere:)
