SFN in feet...new symptom
Just curious if anyone else has this feeling......I'll be walking thru the house in my socks (we have wood floors) and it feels like I'm stepping in a puddle of water. Can be either foot. But there is no puddle on the floor....weird ?
It only lasts for as long as it takes me to feel to see if my sock is wet and then it's gone. Debi from Georgia |
I've had this too. Also when my feet were the worst, many years ago, it felt like I was walking on glass shards, or sharp rocks! (barefoot or in socks). With 3 cats in the house then, there could be surprises on the floor... hair ball events, etc. So I was always careful to only walk with lights on. LOL
When I had my meralgia in my right thigh (nerve damage to the lateral sensory femoral nerve from surgery in the abdomen --C-section)... I used to get feelings down that leg of water running down it. Eventually this turned to blinding stabbing pain... spells where it would flare for no reason, and last several hours. This problem finally resolved with Lidoderm patches... they had just become available. So I experimented with them for placement and once I hit the right spot, I had some relief. After 2 weeks of every day use, the nerve surprisingly stopped its firing, and now I have a remission. It only twinges now with heat or hot water baths, etc. I never expected a remission...but it did fortunately happen for me. It was a surprise. |
I LOVE the pic of your husband and cat :)
We have a 20 lb cat my husband 'rescued' and a 10 lb chi-chi so that is what I thought had happened....lol.....but no....just the feeling in my feet like I stepped in a puddle. Oh well....at least it's not painful when it happens.
Can I ask u about my foot ? Remember the left one that keeps slightly swelling at the 5th meta thingy and ankle ? No dr I've been to really wants to do anything about it. They diagnosed tendonitis. The orthorpedic did xrays of both feet and ankles and said the bones look good. Said the neuro would treat it and gave me that huge boot to wear...can't wear the boot....it's makes the pain unbearable. So I asked the neuro about it and he said he doesn't treat that and feet don't swell with SFN ? Thinking of going back to foot and ankle dr to see if I need an anti-inflammatory. Any thoughts ? This has been going on since the last week of Sept and it's no better. The more I walk the worse it gets. Thanks MrsD for always being there for us :) Have a good day. Debi from Georgia |
Oh... have you tried the magnesium lotion? That Morton's takes down my left ankle swelling fairly quickly. It opens up the circulation so the fluid can move off properly.
Morton's Epsom Lotion: http://www.mortonsalt.com/for-your-h...-epsom-lotion/ At local WalMarts, and now newly at some Walgreen's, and online at Amazon.com I would apply it on the top of the foot, and up the ankle, twice a day. A quarter's dollop size maximum. It is an amazing product! |
Thanks for the suggestion
I've seen u mention that cream before. I'll ask my daughter to get it next time she is in WalMart...which is a lot !
I've shifted from worrying about my feet to worrying about my 2nd 3 month cancer check up :( I'll have to see my oncologist and then my GYN. I didn't worry on my 1st check up...not sure why I'm worried now. I know the Serous uterine cancer I had has a high rate of coming back within the first 3 years. Oh well.....I'll keep my spirits up as usual and just take it as it comes. After this past year I 'should' be able to handle anything they throw my way :) Talk with u later Debi from Georgia |
