Tooth pain

So I got my left far molar extracted last Tuesday and now I have a minor burning sensation in my left front tooth. I do also grind my teeth and I just got cavities filled back in august and I have never had a root canal, what could be causing this?

Hi Joaney,

The pain in your front tooth can be due to your grinding habit. Do you wear a night guard? It would be wise to see your dentist about this problem and either have him adjust your night guard or make you a new one. He should also take an x-ray of that front tooth to check for any possible pathology.

A burning pain can also indicate a nerve pain coming from the nerves inside of that tooth and/or from a branch of nerves inside your jaw that have been stimulated by an injury, grinding, manipulation of your jaw during the extraction of the molar.... any number of things.

See your dentist for an evaluation :)
