Vp to Va shunt

Hi
I am writing for my 4 yr old son. He has hydrocephalus and placed first shun at 9 month old. He had severe infection and lost connection even with lateral ventricles. Now he is living with 2 shunts but nowadays he is having regular issues in abdomen and making pseudocyst in abdomen causing shunt block and bowel obstruction etc. neurosurgeon is now planning va shunt. Is it better than vp shunt interns of stability He has now 20 surgeries and I want him to live some years without problems. Is it too risky to have va shunt. Looking for replies from all. Thnx gijo
