possible nerve damage in hip from RFA lumbar

I had a RFA 10 days ago on 5 lumbar levels. All seems to be going as expected other than I have horrible pain in my R hip. I felt a sharp burn there during the test portion of the procedure. It was excruciating and I told the Dr. so at the time. He said as long as it wasn't going down my leg that the needle was ok. Now I am not so sure about it. I had a different RFA a few years ago and had a numb hip for a few months. It went away. Has anyone else encountered this problem or have any information on what I can do to find out if indeed the nerve in the buttocks is damaged for good?
