Anyone had their eyelid 'drop' out of nowhere?

My sister has an appointment for the 5th of January. Her eyelid has decided to literally 'droop' after having retinal detachment surgery. Her headaches are severe and her eyelid looks like it is going to shut sometimes. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Hi clstewart,

This is known as ptosis, and it may or may not be a direct result of the surgery.

See: post-surgical ptosis

Quote:

Luckily for surgeons and patients, lid drooping after cataract surgery is often short-lived. "Most transient ptosis resolves by 6 months, but there has been one reported case of spontaneous resolution 11 months post-operatively," she said. That case was believed to have been caused by a neuropraxia of the oculomotor nerve, Dr. Shriver said.

Is there any possibility of getting an earlier appointment?
