New symptom, anyone else ever had this
Lately at night when I lay down I feel like my muscles in my legs are shaking? Is this another new symptom I have to look forward to? It is not every night. Anyone else had this?

I have this when I over exert any muscles, it can be my legs, arms, or back. Not exclusively at night, but if I am very tired, then yes.
Do you climb stairs to go to bed? Stairs are very hard if you have CMT, and would be a definite stressor on leg muscles. |
Are you using the magnesium lotion? Apply it to your upper thighs and see what happens.
I get various vibrational things now and then. When my GI is upset, I get internal warning of vibration like this, and sometimes throbbing, to warn me to take one of my emergency antispasmotics before it gets to acute levels. Muscles will vibrate when you have low sugar readings, or if your electrolytes are "off" . Some drugs affect sodium. Quote:

to Sham,
Yes, I have had plenty of theese kind of feelings. That is how my NP symptoms first started, I think. I could feel fine vibration in muscles all over, especially at night, it feels like fine vibrations. When I sit on a sofa or chair, for example, it feels like vibration in furniture. And when I am tired, and standing, I can feel like vibration in the floor. to susanne, Yes I feel like you, when I am exhausted and tired, I feel worse in muscles, actually it is like parasthesia, especially in right arm that I guess is used most, it feels like musle cobtraction and spasm of my whole arm. to Mrs. D thanks for input re hyponatremia. I take both antiseizure (Lyrica) and antidepressant (Amitriptyline) I will study those links a little more, and be on the guard for this. By the way, the above meds are not even helping enough, I think I am going to need some better treatment I have gotten a referal to a neurologist and hoping for some better solution Thanks Good luck to all of you. Thanks, thinking about it, it does seem to happen when I am more tired than usual. The night before I posted this, I did not sleep much, and got up in the middle of the night and immediately fell to the ground. I didn't sit up in the bed a minute before I tried to get up. That should have been an indicator to me to slow down some. I have tried to start eating better so maybe this will improve some to.

Mrs. D where can you get magnesium lotion?
|
Morton's Epsom Lotion:
http://www.mortonsalt.com/for-your-h...-epsom-lotion/ Available at WalMart and newly at Walgreen's. Also online at Amazon. This is pretty new still and not available everywhere yet. It is very inexpensive and works like a miracle. Apply a quarter's diameter to start with. You can divide that up to various body parts. On the feet I use less, on the large muscles you can use more. This improves blood circulation, and blocks pain receptors that may be over firing. It also reduces tight muscles, cramping and twitching. This is my magnesium thread: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread1138.html Magnesium is a critical mineral. Estimates are that up to 70% in the US do not consume the RDA for it. It is essential for about 300 chemical reactions in the body. Certain drugs deplete it (diuretics, antibiotics, acid blocking drugs, chemotherapy, caffeine, alcohol) and certain medical conditions deplete it (diabetes, alcoholism). |
Thank you. I will try it.

Did you see a Neurologist yet? I take 325mg Lyrica 3xday and 10 Amitryptiline at night , they dont seem to help my SFN symptoms either. I get Pins and needles/ tinglin in my legs, tightning and burning pain in my feet. I also get buzzing in my head, sounds like bad tinnitus and sends buzzing down my legs and I get burn patches along the way of the buzzing. ughh Do you get any of these symptoms? What are you hoping to change your medications too, My Neuro Doc says these meds are the meds they use for my kind of symptoms. I feel depressed and stuck! Thanks.. |
