Newbie
Greetings! I'm a 44yr old caregiver for my 70yr old partner of 20yrs who has peripheral neuropathy in both of her legs & feet. She shuffles more than walks and only in the house. Outside she needs the wheelchair. She also had a mini stroke. I also work fulltime as a cna in a nursing home. Anybody else out there in a similiar situation?

:Hum: As your partner or you? :Dunno:
If the latter, we also have a forum for Caregivers Support Doc |
Hi Dr. Smith. I did find the caregivsr forum, thanx. I'm wanting to also talk to others with neuropathy to c how they deal with day to day challenges. My partner has to take morphine round the clock for her pain.

OK; lots of folks here who can help with that.
There are many causes/types (100+) of peripheral neuropathy; in some respects they're similar and in others quite different. The same goes for the symptoms and pain that they may/may not cause. PN is kind of a 'full-spectrum' condition; it can range from a minor nuisance for some to a full-blown disability for others. Given the diversity, I think it would help us help you (collectively) if you could tell us what you know about your partner's PN—cause (if known), test results, onset & progression, symptoms, supplements, treatments, any known 'triggers', etc. Like anything else, the more we learn/know about something, the better we can cope/deal with it.
