Is this part of the healing process?

Hi all,

My old name was Addledannie on this forum. I recognize a lot of 'old' names and lots of new ones. Good to see the site back up again after being off line for so long!

I was wondering if anyone who had a clipping ever experienced neuralgia, or face pain/tingling/sensitivness on the OPPOSITE side from the clipping side?

I am one year and 2 months post op. It was an unruptured annie 4.8 mm.

The pain is intermittent, sometimes feels like a toothache, sometimes is centered around my ear or eye and sometimes the temple region. My annie was located middle artery temporal region, LEFT side. These symptoms are RIGHT side, and have been bothering me for about a week. Just wondered if it's all part of the nerves reconnecting, or something else? I know the annie family here knows more than my family doctor  . Right now the discomfort has moved to my cheek and lower jaw......kind of feels cold, tingly like little pins sticking me. No other symptoms than this. :Hum:

Recovery

Hi Diana,
Each persons recovery is different. My dr. told me that nerves heal something like l/4 to l/2 inch per year. So you will probably get some wierd sensations. My annie (1 cm) was about 2 inches behind my right eye. They cut through my jaw muscles and caused major TMJ for awhile. If I chew gum or sticky candy it returns. Did that this week and the whole LEFT side of my face was so sore I could not touch it. If you are really concerned and it doesn't go away give your surgeon a call and ask. Their nurses can find out the answer and give you a call back. Do you have a check-up soon? I think I went back about a year after my surgery. Call your GP and have him call your surgeon. My prayers are with you. Katie
