lumbar sympathetic block today
 

Got a block done today. My second time, the first was 1 1/2 years ago. Went well, but I have been having drenching sweats , about 6 in past 7 hours. No fever, no chills. I don't remember this last time. Anyone have this after the block?
My leg and foot were very cold before and are pink and warm right now so I'm glad for that even though I don't expect it to last.

I never had blocks done Lottie so I haven't a clue, sorry, but I'm hoping those sweats settle down for you quickly. I'm glad your foot feels warmer for a while at least - long may it last!

I had 1 done last March and I sweated worse than a stuck hog lol. I don't know if its normal or what but yeah I was sweating a lot. I don't normally sweat that much.

Sweats are better today. I am still getting some pain relief from the block so I am a very happy camper at the moment :-)
I will take any relief I can get!

Darlin we all will when we hurt this much day in and day out. I know when I have this little one I am going to make sure they do a good epidural.

Glad its helping,,I never had much luck..once for about 1 hour than back where I begun..Then another time a block lasted about 2 weeks,but did not get all the right nerves,and back to the same old thing..they wanted me to do it again,I said why..you only relieved one small area so why bother..I really pray it works for you.My doctor said if it worked they were going to remove the nerve..I will pray for you

Yeah my first PM Dr that diagnosed me wanted to do a sympathectomy and I said ahhh no. I don't want any more surgeries because of possible spread unless its life threatening and absolutely necessary. This disorder is already spreading from just my left knee to that whole leg and my right knee.

I'm with you! No more surgery for me either!
