Mentanx
Hi Everyone,
I have had RSD in my right hand and arm for 2 1/2 years. I am taking morphine, gabapentin and now the Doctor has switch me from morphine to oxycontin. Has anyone tried Mentanx for RSD ? I really can't see how it would really help someone with RSD . Thanks, Ted |
I had to look it up it's anti-fungal cream. I really don't see how that would help. I had never heard of it. I've been on morphine since 2005 and Gabapentin for 8 months or so. I still have to lay down all day but at least the pain levels went down.
I hope you find relief! Heather |
This disorder isn't a fungal problem. How is an anti fungal cream going to do anything for it? Its a nerve problem.

Metanx is a vitamin combo RX with methylcobalamin (activated B12), methylfolate (activated folic acid) and activated B6. It is designed for neuropathy patients, but will only work in those who are low in these 3 vitamins. Some of our neuropathy posters from the PN forum have used this treatment.
Vit C however is used sometimes in RSD patients, as well as various antioxidants. (grapeseed extract used to be posted about on this forum in the past. You can search it to find those posts.). For people who cannot methylate vitamins to activate them in the body, this vitamin combo should help. DNA methylation errors are pretty common...some doctors say up to 40% of people have them. (MTHFR polymorphisms). |
