Understanding MRI
Please help my husband understand his MRI report.
His areas of concern are- t3-t4 - Ther is a small left paracentral protrusion measuring approx. 3 mm broad-based 1-2 mm in AP diameter with mild mass effect on the anterior thecal sac and questionable minimal mass effect on the cord. t11- t12 - There is a moderate size posterior central protrusion measuring up to approx. 6 mm on the base and 3-4 mm in AP diameter. IMPRESSION Small left parasagittal protrusion at the t3-4 level with mass effect on the thecal sace and questionable mild mass effect on the cord with slight flattening and no abnormal signal. Moderate-sized posterior central protrusion at the t11-12 level with mass effect on the anterior thecal sac and no mass effect on the distal cord. His family doctor told him to be very careful because if he falls or injures himself he could lose bowel control or be paralyzed. Trying to get in to see the neurosurgeon. Thank you for your help. |
