Back or head "locked up"
I'm going on 14 months after initial concussion. This past summer, my chiropractic neurologist ran some diagnostic tests and recommended various neutraceuticals to lower neuroinflammation and reduce glutamate levels in the brain (curcumin, resveratrol, etc.), but I was not able to tolerate them well. About a month ago, I had a severe relapse of PCS symptoms, most notably the feeling of the lower back of my head being "locked up," making it difficult to speak.
Does anyone know what causes this lower-back-of-the-head locked-up feeling or the inability to speak and what I could try to treat these symptoms? Thanks! |
I don't understand what you mean by 'lower back of the head locked up.' Is this a physical condition, stiff neck to head joint or a mental sensation ?
The difficulty speaking needs further definition, too. Is this struggling with Word finding or organizing your thoughts or something else ? |
Muscle spasms?? they can make you feel locked up, ask for some expert PT, DC or possible therapeutic massage..or just an evaluation to check for that..

Regarding speech, I can organize thoughts and find the words, but the act of talking makes my head feel much worse so I have not been talking. It seems to increase the inflammation whenever I try. |
