I am a new member. I have neuropathy in my feet and the burning pain is unreal along with the shocks I feel and the needles, pins etc. I have quit work and I am going to apply for SS disability. I am 59 years old and I have worked all of my life but the pain has increased to the point that I cannot continue to work on these feet. I previously had Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Any advice would be appreciated-thank you in advance. I hope I can add to this forum since I have been trying to get a handle on this problem for several years with a neurologist and I have tried many medications that have not worked. I am going to schedule a skin test for small fiber neuropathy soon.

Good luck to you! I have the same pain in my feet, especially when waking up in the morning (if I even slept night before due to severe electric-like muscle spasms and cramps). I am currently starting a treatment called IVIg , within the next week or so. Hope you find relief!

Welcome Steve :)

I have small fiber neuropathy which is severe in my feet but not as bad in my hands. I asked for a skin punch biopsy and had it down in Sept. I have 0 a and c fibers in my feet with a diagnosis of severe small fiber neuropathy from the lab that did the testing.

I also have the burning, stinging, electrical shocks, numbness and the list goes on and on. My pain is 24/7 and ebbs and flows all day long. I'm currently up to 2700 mg a day of gabapentin and don't think it's helping much since I still can't do anything. No groc shopping, cleaning house etc. This coming from a 51 year old prior Super everything to everyone. I take 1/2 a vicodin 4 times a day just to tap the pain down enough to deal with it. I have filed for disability in GA and was denied the first time around. I'm now in the reconsideration stage and it's driving me crazy.

I wish u the best of luck and please keep us posted.

Debi from Georgia
