Family coming.

So my mother and her husband are driving up from down near Austin, Tx. I've already been up off and on since 130 am. I've been hurting bad the last couple days. Even took 2 norco in one day which y'all know I do not do while pregnant. My mother is going to be here till the beginning of January and I want to make this a fun time for her and my son. Yes she is coming to help with both boys after this one decided he is going to be born, but I still want to make it a fun time for all of us. She has medical conditions too so we won't be as active as I would like. She has breast cancer that metastasized into the bone so she hurts too. What are some good suggestions for fun with a 2 yr old and 2 broken down decrepid women. Yes I am getting his Santa pic done, and we need to do Christmas shopping for him but what are some other good suggestions we can do and keep up with him. Don't say the leash thing. I already have one for him and he drags me worse than an untrained st bernard lol. Yes he's that strong. His has a puppy backpack attached so he can carry toys lol.

Hi Allanira, how nice to have some welcome visitors :) I'm sure you'll find lots of ways to have fun...

Have you thought about pottery painting? Mine loved it when they were little, and I love it too, it's nice to be creative with them, and it's something we can sit down and do!

Kids soft play centres usually have a cafe where you can sit and have a coffee while you watch them play.

How about making Christmas decorations? Little kids who can handle the safe scissors (with rounded ends) like making snowflakes from white paper, folding them and snipping out little bits to make the design when they are unfolded. Then the whole fun of glue and glitter, or painting them...

Doing building blocks or something on a low table is good fun, even if it's just you build them up, he knocks them down! Then you can make a game out of searching for the blocks, and give him a prize of a sweet for each one or every five depending how many there are! Mine also liked dominoes and snap etc. I got some plain card and cut it up into squares, and got them to scribble something on a card, and then I had to try and copy it on another - they used to find it hilarious :winky: - that made a kind of 'pair'! Then we played snap with their own cards, they liked that better than using a bought pack.

You could sit at the table and make cornflake cakes, they are so quick and easy for little kids to make, and they always go down well. Or buy plain biscuits and use icing paste to decorate them with choc buttons and sweets, or those icing pens.

Hope something here is new and helps, I'm sure you already do most of them!

Bram.

Well we get to wait on the going out or making anything because I have to go buy a new water heater. After I get my father in law to install it and we all get cleaned up then we can look at doing things. I went to start mine and my son's bath and there was no hot water last night. We tried the simple fixes and nothing worked. I needed that hot soak too dang it. After the long day and then going to the parade last night I was hurting something fierce. The good thing is I won't have to get another one for a while lol. They sure don't make things like they use to. That includes our bodies lol.

What about just going out and looking at people's homes and decorations? My paper has a map of the houses that are supposed to be totally done up.

Decorating cookies? I know you can get the dough premade and all he has to do is frost it and decorate.
