prayers, if you can...
So, im back at the hospital. fevers spiking to 101. more abdominal pain and my abdomen swelling, etc. the did a ct scan and I have an abscess along with the diverticulitis and on the other side my appendixis inflammed. I dont have a uti like that one dr said. my urine looks fine. I am being admitted again but to the surgery ward. ive never had surgery before and am pretty scared. the surgical nurse assured me they would sedate me enough before going to the theater. as of right now I dont know if im having surgery tonight or in a day or two or what. the surgery team has to come see me.
Again, if you could spare a prayer for me I would greatly appreciate it. I will let you know what they decide. And thanks in advance for the prayers. |
Oh Trish,
I'm so sorry and wish that I could be there with you in person. I'm definitely continuing to pray for you, and now for a good outcome and a speedy recovery. A heads up if you do have the surgery: They tend to start you on milk afterward, but because you have found that doesn't agree with you, it might be good to have someone bring in some almond/rice milk instead. Also, you might be better off to avoid the Boost or Ensure drinks that they also tend to give you. They are loaded with sugar (first ingredient), and at least in my case, it set things off like a torch to gasoline. An unsweetened, plain rice protein powder smoothie mix worked better for me, as did a rice based baby formula mix, until I could get my hands on some of the protein powder mix. Rice pablum-baby food was also better than the cream of wheat, oatmeal or toast as a first food. The latter 3 are triggers for me and I think that you mentioned that wheat/gluten is for you as well. Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. PM me for more specific or "private" stuff, OK? I'm at home and will keep an eye out for you on the board & PM. I know that it is scary, but please know that I'll be here for you :hug:. With love, Erika |
Prayers being said right now for you, Trisha.
Please keep us updated if you feel like being or can be online. I'm so sorry this is happening to you. Are your daughters there with you? I will be keeping an eye on this thread for any updates you may be able to post. Hopefully this intervention will fix things once and for all for you. |
Adding my prayers for you. I hope this does help resolves your problems. I would be scared too. Know that I am thinking about you and praying for a successful surgery and quick recovery.

Will lift you in prayer. I had four open abdominal surgeries in one year back in 2003-03. Hydration, moving the body as soon as you can, and adding things you can eat slowly back into your diet will all help. However, at my two week followup to the removal of my colon I was hungry for Mexican food . . . so that was what I got! I hope the surgery finds what needs attention and nothing more . . . and that you bounce back.
Oh, by the way, surgery #3 was right before Christmas, and I was discharged in Christmas Eve. The best gift you can give yourself is to not let that stress you. |
Erika,
Thank you for giving specifics. I'm filing it away in my head, hoping I never need it! Trish, thoughts and hugs out to you. |
Awww, Trish. Love, Hugs and, most of all, Prayers, for
a successful surgery. |
Definitely asking The Lord & your guardian angels to comfort & protect you. Please let us know , even through your DDs, how things are going. You are loved...

Trish- Of course you can have prayers and thank you for asking.

Hello Tkrik
Hope your stay in the hospital is short, and that you get well quick. You will do just fine. No all surgeries are so bad. They will take good care of you. Sure I will keep you in my prayers right now. ginnie:hug::grouphug:
