Is my iPad 2 wearing out?

I've had one for about 2 years now. I've noticed in the past few weeks that when I touch the screen to make a selection or follow a link, I have to tap twice.
Does this sound like it's puttering out on me?

Hi reesecups,
Try this and see if it helps.
I looked in Apple support for the same problem you're having and there are lots of discussions.

Have you done a soft reset?

I followed the directions given to me here to the Apple Support Website. It seemed to help some. The soft reset was the first thing I tried. Thanks.
