Inosine treatment safely elevates urate levels in Parkinson's disease patients

Yes, they were taking a inosine supplement (500 mg) 2x daily. Patient's urate values were monitored, as was their urinary pH, because inosine puts you at greater risk for kidney stones. Some went to 3x daily for higher urate levels.
They still want to do a Phase III trial on this supplement, which is already available. It may reduce one's risk of Parkinson's taken regularly, and slow the progression of the disease. Interesting... |
