Pain in the face....and butt!

Anyone else?
I have had the dentist check out some teeth mostly on the right side of my jaw. I had one old filling that he replaced and did a root canal on the tooth.....yet.....I still get a stabbing pain in the site.....then it will move to the bottom of my jaw area. Dentist says my teeth are fine. I swear I've had a half a dozen xrays to check it out.
Sometimes my right eye "aches" too.

I've noticed during the winter months my butt cheeks ache too. I thought I was sitting too long. Its like a "toothache" in my butt. However; I notice that I can be lying in bed and feel it too! Its almost like my skin is hyper sensitive.

What's up with that???

"What's up with that?" It's called MS.

So sorry you are feeling these pains. :(. The face pain could be TN?
I've never had it, so don't know for sure. Hope you feel better soon.

The face sounds like trigeminal neuralgia. I would talk to your neuro, they do have meds that help.

I've dealt with this for years now and completely understand. It can be absolutely miserable to deal with, but the meds do make it bearable.

Sorry you're having so many pains.

My dentist also found nothing wrong with my teeth that was causing my facial pain. It was diagnosed as "mild trigeminal neuralgia", and this was a couple of years before any thoughts of MS or any other larger problem.

I am THANKFUL that it was mild--it was bad enough--and hasn't been back.

I haven't dealt with your other problem, but hope you can quickly get to the bottom of it. (Sorry, couldn't resist )

Hi Karilann.

Sorry to hear about your pains.

I have both of them from 2 different sources. The face sounds like TN. Mine is in my R cheek but before treatment it would extend to my R eye and my R palate and upper/lower R teeth and my R tongue and pharynx.

Interesting thing about the TN is that it will break thru in cold outdoor air or even high AC conditions. Re warming my face stops it w/o added medication. Maybe if you just make sure that your face is always covered outdoors you can get by w/o meds.

OTOH, heat causes awful pain that cooling does not help so you will want something to take if that should happen. Narcotics are not very useful in TN, btw.

The butt pain sounds like Piriformis Syndrome- I have that on the right. Try runners' stretches and warmth to lengthen the fibers. PT w E-Stim and ultrasound also help. I have had sciatica but of the 2 it sounds like piriformis- look it up and see what you think.

Hope this makes sense- I can't sleep.;(

Best to you,
ANN
