Recurrent Pulmonary Emboli
March 2012, Pulmonary Emboli. They said it was due to Hormone Replacement Therapy. Well, a 49 year old woman, on HRT, Ok. Well, I discontinued HRT. December 2013, Pulmonary Emboli, again per DiDimer and CT Scan.
Waiting to see Oncology / Hematologist - again. But, I have these Cat Scan Results.. Can anyone help with ... I know we are not Drs. Just anyone familiar especially with the mediastinal section. Thank you in Advance Lungs: There are pulmonary emboli in proximal subsegmental pulmonary arterial branches of the anterior segment of the right upper lobe. This was phoned to Dr. Chin on 12/14/2013 at 3:35 p.m. There is no other significant lung abnormality. Small foci at the right and left costophrenic sulci suggest subsegmental atelectasis or nodular scar. Mediastinum: A subcarinal node measures 1.3 cm. Paratracheal nodes measure up to 1.4 x 0.6 cm. Anterior mediastinal preaortic nodes measure up to 9 x 5 mm. The etiology is not evident. A 1.5 x 1 centimeter ill-defined focus of soft tissue opacity in the anterior mediastinal fat suggests residual thymic tissue or lymph node. |

Is this cancer? If so, let me know as much as you know. I would like to research it. I promise not to go balisitic... I actually would not be surprised. I do have a couple of other health issues as well.. so, spit it out peeps.:wink: |
Hi jonlyn,
Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups. I'm so sorry you're dealing with all this right now. I can understand your concerns. Hopefully someone may reply who has more knowledge of your situation or can perhaps answer some of your questions. I just wanted to welcome you and say that I hope your appointment with your doctor/s is very soon so that you don't have to wait too long to know exactly what is going on. Take care there. p.s. the number of viewers doesn't necessarily mean that they're all members here from NT. |

Thank you for responding... Do I need to post this question / request in a different place? |
That's OK. I felt concerned for you.
I'm thinking this is the correct forum. NT is a Neuro site mostly so here would perhaps be the best place in General Health and Rare Conditions. You could perhaps copy your post into Women's Health Forum although it's obviously more specific to female issues. When do you see your doc? I feel that it wouldn't really be proper for someone here to suggest you had cancerous nodes from reading your CT results. I know I'd want to know too, and feel for you, but you really need to call your doctor, jonlyn. This may be quite benign. |
