MS, Chronic nerve pain and pain pump surgery

I want to find out if there is anyone else out there who has had the pain pump done due to neurological pain from MS. I just recently had my surgery to have a pain pump put in due to severe nerve pain from my MS. Over the last few years, my pain has gotten so intolerable, but I've been able to manage it by using exercise and mountain biking. I literally would go in and work out in the late morning at curves and then I would go mountain biking for several hours with my bf and that would carry me through my doses of pain medication in the morning and evening. I wound up having a motorcycle accident where I injured my knee and since I couldn't work out, I was unable to get through the day on the amount of pain medicine that I was on. When I went to my neurologist to see about getting something that would cover that afternoon time frame, he decided to send me to a pain management Dr. The one that I chose to go to in the area that I live turned out to be a good Dr. He listened to what I told him about my fears of becoming addicted, and he immediately suggested that I consider the Medtronic pain pump. Normally he does the trials (which I had done and felt that I got about 90% pain reduction) and then he also does the implants himself as well, but since I'd recently had another surgery to remove some excess skin from having gastric bypass and losing about 150 lbs, he felt uncomfortable doing it himself since he isn't trained as a surgeon, he felt more comfortable sending me to a neurosurgical and spine specialist. Once I got in to see him they had me scheduled for surgery the following week which was the 23rd of December. I've since had the surgery and it went well except for some weakness and pain in my left leg which to me felt like I had a nerve being pinched which they told me that I probably have swelling which is causing irritation to the nerves in my spine and then prescribed me a medrol steroid dose pack. Since that time, the pain has decreased some in the hip as well as some of, but not all of the weakness. Several days later, I noticed some visual changes in my left eye and some weakness in my right leg as well as some sensory issues just below my knee down to my foot. I'm also experiencing some ringing in my right ear as well. The only thing that I can think of is that I may be having a relapse which I was told could happen due to the surgery. I have an appointment to see my surgeon on the 8th of this month so I can only hope he can come up with some answers for me.

I only know of one person on another forum who had a good outcome with the pain pump.
