Max limit on SGB/LSB

Hi All,
I am experiencing RSD flares after a procedure. I am waiting for some blocks. I had SGB/LSB in the past which worked very well. I would like to know is there a max limit for these type of blocks in our life time. What did your doc tell you?
Thanks.

Hi numb!
Sorry for your flares. i've had RSD/CRPS for a little over a year.
In a 9 1/2 mo. time frame I've had 20-21 (lost count) SGB's. The first
3 were pretty dramatic and I regained some range of motion during that time.
Intense P.T. along with of course.
I continued with the blocks about every 2-3 weeks & they maintain a level of
pain reduction. I continue with P.T to keep what I've gained but the progress has reached a plateau.
I think my Dr. said I can continue with SGB's as much as I want. But as you can imagine I'm wondering what to do.
It's not fun getting stabbed through the neck and being a zombie for a day.

Hi Az-DI,
Thanks for your input! Did u just have SGB on your left side? How soon did u start to have your blocks after your injury? When u said dramatic, do u mean good improvement? What is your pain level now?

Yes, just on left side. My 1st block was about 11 weeks after surgery.
One was attempted by a different P.M. Dr. about 3 wks. prior and it went
very wrong so I was afraid, but then I found a much better Dr. who uses ultrasound along with x-ray for guidance.

By dramatic I mean the first 3 reduced the swelling and helped the skin color.
I was then able to gain some more movement in P.T. The subsequent
proceedures have helped to keep the pain levels reduced and keep the movement I gained early. However, there's been no more progress since then.
I still cannot make a fist, straighten my fingers all the way, or rotate my wrist. Sounds weird, but I'm happy to at least have some use of my hand.
A yr. ago I would not have imagined "settling" for this.

I had rsd since 1980 I have way over 150 SGB in my neck 3 each side 1-2 times a year the only bad thing is you can get scaring from all the injections.
