Question
I was dx. With tn about5 months ago. I have no health insurance and a net dr was treating me with steroids injections in the jaw. However about a week ago I had a attack that has lasted almost a week. I finally went to er and was given fluids and morphine. I am usually very high tolerant c&w to pain but this was something that I can't explain. Now as I am on pain meds waiting to see a neurologist I began having a panic Attack a bit ago. I find myself afraid of this happening.
Any suggestions or insight. Thanks Rgb66 |
Hi, and welcome. I am a bit puzzled by some of what you wrote. I am not sure what you mean by "net dr". TN is usually treated with anticonvulsant meds, not pain meds, though sometimes I have been given narcotics for breakthrough pain. Please do see a neurologist. I hope you find help and can get rid of the pain. This isn't a kind of pain that is easily tolerated! It can be pretty high on the pain scale! I hope some others will have more to add...

It helps to have a plan of what steps to take if it gets worse, but don't assume the worst. |

I hope you can find a way to get some health insurance. It is very likely that you will need ongoing treatment if you have TN! Fortunely now it doesn't matter that you have a preexisting condition. |
I don't like the statement 'wasting my time' you are in pain and need assistance in elevating that. I would find a different dr. and I would look to get some insurance coverage as soon as you can. The doctor does seem to be doing a workup to rule out many things with all the test he wants to do.
