Post trauma vision syndrome from old head injury??

When I was about 4 or 5 (1987) I had an open head injury to the back of my head near the occipital area. From that point on I was left with sensitivity to my scalp. Around 2006 I had many traumatic falls while skim boarding, many were whiplash events). I believe this stirred up the events for me. I started having vision issues where I would see spots and lines would vibrate. Soon came the headaches and now I am having tracking issues... For instance passing cars either go super fast and almost blur or they seem to be going slow like in my peripheral vision the cars disappear and reappear like I am looking through and oscillating fan.

Has anyone ever experienced this type of vision problem after head injury?

I can't find much about it. I also see faint static in my vision too.

skimordiegirl,

Welcome to NeuroTalk. It sounds like you struggle to learn to avoid risky activities. I hope you are considering a new sport with less risk than skim boarding. At your age, brain injuries take longer to recover and you risk them not recovering like they did when you were younger.

Your vision issues could be head injury related. A neurologist or neuro-opthalmologist may be able to test you and find the problem. A VEP (visual evoked potential) test may help.

Are you experiencing any other symptoms ?
